Archaeology and palaeontology have long been interests of mine. So when the opportunity came along to visit the American Museum of Natural History in New York, I had to go. The museum houses one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils in the world and features dramatic dioramas of animals as they would appear in their natural surroundings.
We spent a whole day touring the museum, and there was still more to see. Highlights included the Dinosaur Hall with its reassembled fossil skeletons, which really gave me a feel for how large and diverse these creatures were, and the dioramas of modern animals from around the world in true-to-life poses, which were so life-like, I expected them to move at any moment. It was a lot of fun to visit and very entertaining and educational.
